Behind the Ink

Hi, I’m Shelby R Snow, and I write to make sure the voices in my head don’t drive me any closer toward insanity.
I dipped my toes into the world of storytelling while playing dolls in my childhood dress-up room. It was also there, in the chaotic mess of dolls and princess dresses, that I was introduced to Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery, Harry Potter by J.K. Rowling, and Eragon by Christopher Paolini. Inspired by Anne, Harry, and Eragon’s different adventures, I spent the long hours of math class daydreaming, and the past decade dedicating myself to turning those daydreams into stories for my children and new friends to enjoy alongside me.
I am a proud wife, mother of three, daughter, and sister. When I'm not hunched like a goblin in my writing cave, you can find me in my kitchen baking, rewatching old episodes of Dark Shadows, The Nanny and The Addams Family, or planning out the itinerary for a make-believe trip to where ancient magic still feels real and history abounds. Born in Chicago, I was raised in Texas and Utah, with an international traveler's itch. I am influenced by the majestic forests, snow mountains, misty mornings, family connection, and the rich history of our God-given earth.
My stories focus on the virtues of humanity, reimagining favorite myths, and how generational trauma can either poison or strengthen us. So, fill up your water, grab your favorite treat; I'd like to introduce you to Eira, Hadass, and Asterion.
